This house has curb appeal galore.
Every Spring, the Royal Poinciana in the front yard puts on a spectacular show that lasts through early summer.
The front entry says "Come on In."
The front porch is the perfect spot to hang out and watch the world go by. Be aware, if the neighbors spot you through the screen, they may just come on in and join you for a cocktail or two.
In or out? The choice is all yours.
The living room is bright, yet warm and cozy. Doesn't Willa look cozy there all curled up in front of the fire?
The dining room has French doors that lead out to the private courtyard. Directly across from the doors is an impressive lion head fountain. When entertaining, the doors can be opened to make use of all this great space.
The dining room is connected to the living room through an archway. This is typical Spanish architecture at its finest. Notice the crown molding, it is original and made of plaster. The floors are original oak and in great shape.
Cooking is not a chore in this fun kitchen.
In this cheery kitchen, light streams in through two windows and the French door leading to the back yard. This isn't a huge space, but what more do you really need? Wait til you see the beautiful, natural pine ceiling and floors.
Space is not an issue, because there is ample storage in the roomy pantry cupboards in the hall between the dining room and kitchen.
Bedrooms were not large in the 1920's. This one has been expanded to make use of the space that was once a back verandah. The total area makes for a perfect master bedroom. The French doors lead out to a patio and provides a view of another fountain in the secluded back yard.
The enclosed verandah is currently being used as an office, but would be well suited as a sitting room, or even a nursery.
There is plenty of closet space in the master. This air-conditioned walk-in features a closet system with ample hanging and shelf space.
The main bathroom has been completely updated. The large walk-in shower is constructed of Turkish marble and tumbled stone. The same stone was used on the vanity counter top.
The sink is from Mexico and the mirror from Indonesia. You would think that they came as a set.
Back to that shower. You will have a spa like experience everytime you step in. There is also a bench along the length of the partition wall.
The second bathroom has been completely updated, but you will think it is straight out of the 1920's. The wainscoting, clawfoot tub, and pedestal sink give the space the charm you would expect. And what a plus to have a second bathroom in this vintage home.
The second bedroom is bright and cheerful. This room is quite spacious for the time period.
This is the beautiful brick courtyard, lushly landscaped, with pergola and fountain. The courtyard can be entered through the front gate, the dining room French doors, and from the kitchen door. This is a perfect spot for year round entertaining.
At the end of the courtyard sits the original carriage house. The pergola is directly overhead in this photo. The French doors of the carriage house open up completely. Through the doorway on the right is the kitchen. Around the corner is the back yard.
This is the view from the other end of the courtyard. Notice the lion head fountain. It is all set up and ready for a family of Koi or goldfish. The privacy wall runs the entire length of the space. All of the plants in the courtyard are watered by an automatic drip irrigation system, so the maintenance is minimal.
This is the interior of the carriage house. It is currently being used as a bar and is the perfect spot to catch the game. The possibilities are endless as the space is air-conditioned and completely finished and oh, what a view. The washer and Gas dryer are along the back wall in Cabinets.
Bar sink with retractable faucet. Fill with Ice and away you go!
Beautifully built in Washer and Gas Dryer. The cabinets have been stained to match the walls. The top lifts off for maintenance and the face pulls away to allow repairs or removal of the units if needed.
Nice clean look! Folding area on top of the cabinet. Better yet, use as a serving area for your next party!
This is the fountain viewed through the French doors in the master bedroom. The back yard is shady, private, and completely fenced. The patio off of the bedroom has a hot tub and room for sunning or relaxing. The shed was built up against the carriage house to take up the least amount of yard space as possible. The shed is a perfect place to store the lawn mower, other gardening supplies and tools, and misc. items.
The side yard is even completely landscaped. If you get hungry, there are banana trees, pineapple plants, a coconut palm, an avocado tree, a fig tree, and a Rio Grande cherry tree.
